Aqualyx treatment is a fat dissolving injection that works by liquidating fat cells and destroying them permanently. The broken-down cells are then eliminated through the body’s waste systems.
As long as you are generally healthy and don’t have any skin diseases or infections in the treated area there are few medical reasons why you should not undergo Aqualyx fat dissolving injections treatment. However, Aqualyx® is not recommended for women who are pregnant or breastfeeding. It is also not recommended for people who have been diagnosed with lipodystrophy or are immunocompromised for any reason including type 1 diabetes.Aqualyx fat dissolving injections are an excellent treatment for those looking to treat areas on the body with stubborn, localised fat. Please note that Aqualyx® fat dissolving injection is a body contouring treatment, not a weight loss solution. Aqualyx® treatments are only applicable for small, localised areas, and patients should already be within 1 stone of their ideal weight. Aqualyx is for small pockets of fat (not larger areas). What does having Aqualyx Body Fat Dissolving Injections involve?
You will have a consultation, if you are deemed suitable for treatment and wish to go ahead then treatment can be performed on the same day as consultation or book a future appointment.
On the day of treatment, the area to be treated is marked out. The Aqualyx® solution is mixed with lidocaine (an anaesthetic) before injection for your comfort.
A number of injections are administered to ensure the area of fat to be removed is fully covered.
After treatment, the practitioner will manipulate/massage the areas and you will have to continue this massage at home for several days after your treatment
You will experience swelling /discolouration of the skin and tenderness, on most occasions you will have some bruising. The area will feel tender for 7- 10 days and appear swollen for this time.
You will require 2 or 3 treatments, with improvement normally becoming visible after the second treatment.
AQUALYX typically requires a course of two to four treatments with four to six-week intervals between each session. Although the procedure doesn’t hurt, you should expect some swelling which can take up to three weeks to subside
